Salmon Fry Release
Salmon Fry Release

Our third-grade Falcons (and Kahu) had an exciting adventure as they released the school’s salmon fry at Lake Sammamish State Park. This was a tremendous experience with Sound Salmon Solutions. Our falcons have been busy learning about the salmon's life cycle. Experiences like these make learning come alive and foster a deeper connection to the environment. Kudos to everyone involved for making it a memorable and impactful event for our Falcons!

Fifth Grade Instrument Petting Zoo
Fifth Grade Instrument Petting Zoo

On Monday, our fifth graders had the opportunity to get some hands-on experience with flutes, clarinets, trumpets, and trombones at the "Instrument Petting Zoo" sponsored by Ted Brown Music and got to warm up their vocal cords with some music notes with music instructor, Jacob Houser, from the MSHS Music Program. This was a fun way for next year's potential band and choir students to get a feel for which instrument they might want to play in middle school or see if they want to join choir. Band members who do not already own an instrument will have an opportunity to rent one for the upcoming school year at an instrument fitting night at CKMS next month. For more information, contact CKMS Band Director Jason Talbott at talbottj1@svsd410.org.

Our fabulous Music Teacher, Ms. Schultz, kicked off our spring concerts with our Third Graders. Our third-grade class has worked so hard throughout the school year and showcased all the wonderful things they have learned to both family and staff. Students played the drums and other instruments, and used flashlights in the finale song, "Fireflies". Thank you to our amazing music teacher, Ms. Schultz, for sharing her love of music with our students!
