School Overview

Overview

Fall City Elementary School is one of five elementary schools in the Snoqualmie Valley School District. The school was built in 1962. In 1999 Fall City Elementary School went through a major remodel. This remodel increased the size of our library and updated our gymnasium which was built in 1917.

Our school has a librarian, computer laboratory technician, physical education teacher, and music teacher. Students currently rotate through these classes on a six day schedule. Fall City Elementary School also has a full time counselor, a speech and language pathologist, psychologist, nurse and occupational therapist. FCES employs an additional instructional assistant that focuses on reading and writing. This person is paid for through PTSA funds.

Students at FCES also participate in our Science and Artist in action program (Sci/Art). This program provides our students with specialized instruction in both the arts and science. The instructors are local professionals in the fields of science and art. Each classroom participates in this program once a month for a half school day.

Fall City Elementary School's PTSA is an extremely supportive part of our community. For the past two years our PTSA has received state recognition for having 100% participation from our families and staff. Currently we have over 250 volunteers that put in numerous hours of quality work every week. Our PTSA supports many important programs at our school including Sci/Art and our 5th grade outdoor education camp. Each year our PTSA organizes a walk-a-thon in which all of our students participate. In the 2005-2006 school year, our PTSA raised enough funds through an auction to completely update our computer lab including the addition of a new server.

Volunteer Background Checks

Our goal is to make our school as safe as possible for your children. In an effort to improve the level of safety for all of our students, FCES is now conducting background checks on all volunteers.

You must complete a background check by (date) in order to volunteer. All background check information will be kept confidential.

To complete your background check, follow the steps below:

  • Stop by the office and fill out a disclosure form. (You can also download the disclosure form.) Return the form to the office when completed.
  • Have one of the office staff, Jennie or Julie, make a copy of your driver's license.
  • After the check has been completed, Jennie will notify you.
  • Have a photo ID badge made by one of the workroom staff.
  • Bring your ID badge to the office and Jennie will mark your badge once the background check is completed.

The teachers will be given a list of approved volunteers. Any volunteer that has not completed a background check will be unable to volunteer until they have done so.

Our volunteers are what make FCES special. Thank you for your cooperation and support. If you have any questions regarding background checks, please contact Jennie at 831-4001.
