First Soaring Falcons of 2026!

Congratulations to our first Soaring Falcons of 2026 who were awarded on Tuesday! Thank you for your outstanding behavior!

Growing Minds

Before Winter Break, our fifth graders enjoyed Wheat Week, a hands-on program led by Ms. Tara! 🌾 Over daily one-hour sessions, students explored systems, soil, water, DNA, and energy—bringing agricultural science to life. Highlights included creating terrariums, planting wheat, learning about soil, extracting plant DNA, and hands-on wheat threshing.

A big thank you to our local Conservation District, Washington Dairy Farmers, and the Washington Grain Commission for making this free, enriching experience possible!

Fifth Graders Leading with Empathy

This fall, we launched our Character Traits program, and in December, our FCES Falcons focused on Empathy—understanding others’ feelings, showing kindness, and supporting those around us.

These are our fifth graders who demonstrated outstanding empathy throughout the month.

December Character Trait

Frosty From Above

Ms. Davis led students step by step as both her class and Ms. Coffey’s fourth-grade class created snowmen from a bird’s-eye view. The results were creative, fun, and a great way to celebrate Art Day during Spirit Week!

The Grinch Spreads Cheer

On the last day before Winter Break, we were delighted by a very special visit from the Grinch himself. With his mischievous grin, playful antics, and just a hint of mischief, he stopped by to spread laughs, surprises, and holiday excitement—proving that even the Grinch can’t resist the joy of our Falcons this season.
