Falcons Release Salmon Fry

Our third-grade Falcons visited Lake Sammamish State Park on a beautiful day to release the salmon fry they’ve been raising as part of their science unit. Through their partnership with Sound Salmon Solutions, students experienced the salmon life cycle firsthand, watching their classroom tank grow from eggs to release day. A big thank you to our teachers and volunteers for their care and support in making this hands-on learning experience possible.

A Beautiful Night of Music

The SVSD Elementary Choir Concert filled the MSHS Performing Arts Center last Wednesday evening.

Fall City Elementary opened with J’entends le moulin, Tongo, and Galop from the Solfege Suite. Snoqualmie Elementary followed with O Music and Oye. The concert concluded with a combined performance of Sisi Ni Moja and Kusimama (Stand Tall).

Thank you to all the families who came to support, and to Natalie Houle (FCES Choir Director), Rachel O’Neill (SES Choir Director), and accompanist Dan Taylor for making it a memorable evening.

Student Voices Take the Lead

Our Falcons help lead the school through weekly Morning Announcements every Tuesday. Student Council leaders share birthdays, the Pledge, and important updates, with other groups like Diversity Club joining throughout the year. Broadcast on Zoom, students present from Ms. Hubert’s or Mrs. Mitchell’s office, building confidence, leadership, and communication skills.

Integrity Matters at FCES

March Character Trait: INTEGRITY

Last month, our FCES Falcons focused on integrity — doing the right thing, being honest, and taking responsibility for their actions. Practicing integrity means keeping promises, treating others fairly, and making ethical choices. When Falcons demonstrate integrity, they help build a respectful and responsible school community.

Second Grade Falcons who demonstrated integrity in March.

March Madness

Fall City Elementary’s halls are buzzing with college spirit this March as students explore higher education through Ms. Hubert’s NCAA bracket bulletin board. Each classroom adopted a college team, learning not only about basketball stats but also academic programs and campus highlights, while decorating doors with creative posters, maps, and fun facts. Kindergarten and First Grade classes teamed up with Fourth and Fifth Grade classes, while Second and Third Grade classes decorated on their own. Through this experience, students discovered what makes each university unique and began thinking about their own future paths.

Diversity Club Highlights

Our Diversity Club created two bulletin boards celebrating Women’s History Month and women’s empowerment, highlighting influential women and inspiring messages. Have your Falcon stop by and check out their hard work, and thank you to Ms. Hubert for her ongoing support and dedication.

Future Musicians in Action

Our fifth graders had a fantastic hands-on experience at the "Instrument Petting Zoo," sponsored by Ted Brown Music. They tried out flutes, clarinets, trumpets, and trombones. This exciting event gave future middle school band students a chance to explore different instruments and discover what they might love to play.

For all students who sign up for band there will be a required Instrument Fitting Night at CKMS on April 30 from 5-9 p.m. where Mr. Talbott will help students find the instrument that will be the best fit for them. At this event, parents will also have the opportunity to learn about rental options and get involved with the CKMS Music Boosters.
