STEM LAB

Welcome to STEM!

In STEM, your Falcon builds the skills to thrive as a digital age learner. Our program focuses on developing empowered learners, digital citizens, innovative designers, and computational thinkers—essential skills for success in today’s world.

What does that mean?

  • Empowered Learner: Uses technology to take an active role in learning.

  • Digital Citizen: Manages digital identity in a safe, positive, and responsible way.

  • Innovative Designer: Uses technology to design, create, and explore new ideas.

  • Computational Thinker: Understands sequences and applies them to solve problems creatively.

At the start of each school year, we focus on digital citizenship—learning how to use technology safely, respectfully, and responsibly. Our district STEM teachers use select lessons from Common Sense Education, which help students develop healthy digital habits both at school and at home.

What is Digital Citizenship?
While kids today are quick to use technology, they still need guidance to navigate the digital world thoughtfully and safely.

  • Grades K–2: Lessons build healthy media habits and teach how to stay safe online.

  • Grades 3–5: Students continue exploring online safety, screen time, and begin learning about cyberbullying and what’s appropriate to share online.

These innovative learning opportunities are made possible through the support of the SVSD Technology Levy, which helps bring hands-on, creative experiences to our students. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Fall City PTSA and the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation (SVSF) for their ongoing support in making programs like this possible.
